Full Job Description
- Collecting stock or goods from a collection point and ensuring that all customer orders are complete
- Packing the goods in the delivery vehicle in an organised manner that matches the order in which the deliveries will be made
- Planning the shortest and best routes to clients by taking factors like roadblocks and traffic into consideration
- Using GPS navigation apps and knowledge of the area to deliver packages to customers on time
- Doing regular maintenance checks on delivery vans and informing management of any issues
- Driving in inclement weather such as snow
- Delivering products that are in good condition to clients
- Interacting with clients in a friendly and professional manner
- Unloading packages at the destination and getting clients to sign the necessary paperwork
- Updating route, mileage and delivery logs
- Be able you use own initiative.
Excellent customer service - Reliable, motivated & organised
- The right attitude and ability to work well within a team
- Full UK Driving License
This role is open to all candidates although;
The ideal candidate will have experience of driving at least a 3.5T vehicle. Good product knowledge would be an advantage. As an independent, family-run builder's merchants we put the customer first in offering friendly, helpful & professional advice.
