Transport Planner

We are looking for an organised and pro-active Transport Planner to join our growing Logistics Team! As a Transport Planner you will assist the Transport Manager with daily routing of the vehicles, debriefing drivers, finding back loads and opening new doors to new customers. We are a very fast-paced company, and you will need to be able to work as a team and have the necessary skills to work independently. Experience within the Transport industry is essential.

At Vuba you will:

· Triage of daily orders to the most cost/resource efficient distribution centre

· Route planning of Vuba vehicles based on customer demand & operational efficiency

· Assist with developing internal processes to ensure the best customer experience and value

· Establish and maintain an expansive network of international, national and local logistics operators

· Negotiate costs for external transport, ensuring best value and agreed service quality

· Assist with logistics support for purchasing department, advising on best method and obtaining quotes

· Manage 3rd party logistics claims, ensuring optimal outcome for Vuba and our customers

· Maintain excellent communication with internal stakeholders, in particular HGV Drivers, Distribution Managers and Sales Department

· Assist with ensuring full compliance with legal requirements for own vehicles, including maintenance, record keeping and driver management

· Audit driver hours, analyse results and take appropriate disciplinary action for non-conformance

· Any other ad hoc duties

· Good time management skills, as they may have multiple tasks and issues happening concurrently

· Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with managers and colleagues

· Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills to identify issues and effectively deal with them

· A firm understanding of health and safety regulations

· Excellent attention to detail

· Ability to work in a high-pressure environment,
