Full Job Description

We are looking for enthusiastic and ambitious people to join the team. We have opportunities at a range of levels for people who can solve problems, challenge conventional thinking, respond quickly to changing priorities, and most importantly who can make change happen.

If you have a background or interest in change or improvement there will be opportunities to sharpen your skills in business analysis, project management, and process redesign.

If your expertise lies in stakeholder engagement you'll enhance your abilities to build strong and positive working relationships with colleagues and influence the work of strategic partners.

If you are a recent graduate, or a have a totally different background altogether, you'll have the chance to develop all of the above, work with senior leaders and elected officials, and begin a career in change management with one of the highest performing public bodies in Wales.

About you

Whatever level of the team you work at you will be encouraged to take ownership of projects and identify and make recommendations for improvements.

Public services and the ways in which they are delivered are changing rapidly. In the Vale of Glamorgan Council all of our work is now guided by a simple mission - to transform into the organisation our residents and colleagues need us to be by 2030.

As part of this mission dozens of change projects are planned for 2024/25 and beyond. Each will in its own way ensure that vital public services are sustainable and fit for the future. Our Reshaping Services team works at great pace to support this.

For our Reshaping team every day is different. The team operates at the intersection between people, culture, processes and technology. Their role is to drive forward the Council's ambitious transformation programme and deliver financial savings while also ensuring those who need our services remain central to how they are designed., Your work will involve developing and maintaining project plans, leading on user research and supporting the adoption of ways of working.

Everything you do will be done in partnership with colleagues. Drawing on methodologies from process improvement, continuous improvement, and user experience data and feedback the Reshaping team supports teams across the Council in developing sustainable and inclusive public services.

Each day will present the opportunity to be part of meaningful and rewarding work that makes a real difference to the citizens' lives and the future of public services. There has never been a more important time to be a public servant. If you'd like to be part of our 2030 journey, then express an interest in one of our roles today.
