Trainee Bus Driver

The role will be shift-based, so you'll need to be prepared to work early, evenings and weekends. Next stop, Arriva.

Whilst you don't need any experience driving a bus, we do have a few requirements. You'll be over 18 as this is a legal requirement and have at least 6 months driving experience with no more than 6 points on your licence. Our Tamworth depot provides services into Birmingham City Centre, to Nuneaton through the villages of Polesworth and Dordon and the historic town of Atherstone. We also operate the in some of the rural villages in North Warwickshire, and the local Lichfield City. We operate school services to Polesworth High School, Rawlett High School, and a Kind Edwards VI in Lichfield, as well as providing critical routes to the Robert Peel hospital in Mile Oak, and Good Hope hospital in Sutton Coldfield.
Don't worry if you've never driven a bus before, we'll be with you every step of the way to get you started. With the help of our experienced team and our Arriva Training School, you'll have all the tools you need for full CPC training, so you'll be behind the wheel in no time.
We do the right thing at Arriva, that's why you'll be earning an hourly rate of £11.00 whilst learning (increasing to £11.44 in April 2024). Then increasing to £11.65 once you've completed your training period and rising year-on-year to £13.35.
We're offering full-time opportunities with potential for overtime if you'd like to take additional hours.
