Senior Quantity Surveyor

We are looking for a Senior Commercial Manager to work within our ISG Retail division, who is driven, motivated and committed. You will be responsible for managing all commercial and financial aspects of projects from inception to completion. The candidate should have substantial experience within the construction industry, preferably having previously worked on fit out and refurbishment projects and is able to manage several projects at any one time as well as managing individuals and a team if needed. Key Responsibilities

• To work within, alongside or even lead our commercial teams as well as the wider project teams in a positive, can do manner. This could be primarily office based with site visits or potentially be site based.


• Keeping up to date with current commercial practices, processes and procedures including those specific to ISG and the Client through day to day activities, specific training and continued professional development.


• To commercially manage your own projects and packages as well as monitoring others on their projects, preparing, updating and agreeing all cost and financial control aspects of the project(s) using the appropriate cost and financial reporting systems whilst ensuring you and others adhere to ISG Governance.


• To support the training of developing Commercial employees in their day to day activities and planned development.


• Attending sites and meetings as and when required to complete commercial activities, to meet and advise the client representatives, team and supply chain, to understand progress, change and deal with any contractual matters.


• Undertaking and / or monitoring measurement, producing and agreeing high level budgets, cost plans and contract sums whilst offering sound cost and procurement advice backed up with relevant data and benchmarking principles.


• Sound knowledge of JCT / NEC contracts, conditions and ISG contractual liabilities, preparing advice on contractual matters to Senior Management and being able to competently advise all key parties.


• Managing and / or monitoring all procurement and supply chain activities including preparing and issuing enquiries, analysing subcontractor tender returns, placement of orders and subcontracts.
  
  Degree qualified and / or extensive experience within the construction industry in the field of commercial management and surveying.


• Good knowledge and understanding of Word and Excel packages essential with experience of other software's such as Bluebeam preferred.


• A good communicator - able to use a range of communication skills in a confident and collaborative manner.


• Sound knowledge and understanding of JCT / NEC forms of contract & Contract Law.

• Organised and able to prioritise own work to deliver on time through managing time effectively.


• Able to participate in a team or lead a team, actively supporting / managing colleagues in a positive manner
