Full Job Description

  • Manage and coordinate projects from order to completion, overseeing manufacturing, engineering and logistics.

  • Manage project scheduling and host weekly meetings for updates

  • Ensure accurate design and inventory management.

  • Coordinate workshop and pre-assembly activities

  • Collect details of project sites and oversee subcontractor arrangements.

  • Identify and mitigate project risks

  • Maintain clear communication with clients throughout projects.

  • Establish project shutdown records for performance evaluation

  • Manage and purchase warehouse stock and materials.

  • Line manage in-house warehouse technician

  • Drive process optimisation and development.

  • Recruit new team members and subcontractors as needed

  • Identify opportunities for R&D within operations.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations

  • Facilitate team training and knowledge sharing.

    This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, highly organised and motivated person to manage and structure the operations side of our business, to promote our next phase of growth, Background in construction, mechanical, horticulture or agricultural engineering.

  • Degree level education or equivalent training

  • Highly organised and process driven.

  • Minimum 5 years of management experience

  • Proficiency in computer programs, especially Excel and project management software. Good understanding of CAD (we use Solidworks)

  • Practical and good at hands on problem solving when necessary.

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Excellent communicator and team player.

    Harrier Garden Developments specialise in the design, manufacture, and installation of M&E (Heating, Electrics, Control Systems, Vent Motors) and Fittings (Cedar Shades, Benching, Lighting, Grates, Thermal Screens) for large privately-owned greenhouses. Typical sites for Harrier are beautiful country houses and National Trust properties.


  • We are a well-established, small business, based near Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk, with projects spanning across the whole of the UK, and, on occasion, overseas. Current turnover of Harrier is approximately £1 million. Typical project values are between £5,000 and £80,000.
