Full Job Description

As Senior Communications Planner you'll be the strategic architect of our media campaigns and evergreen platforms. The Comms Planner sits at the intersection of ideas and media, partnering closely with the Brand Experience, Creative and Media Planning and Buying Teams to ensure a comms idea is properly integrated across the channels that best meet a brand's communications tasks. This role calls for a strategist with a creative heart and an analytical mind who can contextualise an idea within the appropriate channels and ultimately ensure that creative execution and media all work in perfect harmony.,

  • You'll lead day-to-day comms planning for high-profile dynamic accounts; play a key role in building trusted relationships with clients alongside other McCann teammates across the network



  • Partner closely with Strategy and Creative leads to ensure our creative ideas make most effective use of an integrated mix of owned, earned and paid channels, and are deployed via innovative, targeted media and technology

  • Partner closely with the clients' owned channel teams to ensure that communication ideas are adopted and executed seamlessly throughout social, PR, eCRM and .com properties



  • Partner with the Brand Experience Strategy Director and UX Teams to develop specific and detailed consumer journeys for each campaign or activity


  • Determine the communications tasks for each campaign and write task briefs that guide messaging and execution tailored for each channel

  • Create measurable campaign KPI's, helping to enhance creative effectiveness and improve sell rate of innovative ideas


  • Read and analyse campaign metrics and leverage insights from data to improve comms effectiveness


  • You'll be responsible for demonstrating an understanding of consumer behaviours within media, and a working knowledge of media relevant to the client's business including TV, digital, social, experiential, print, OOH and search



  • Showcase an understanding of both traditional and digitally-enhanced media, social and emerging platforms and technologies

  • Occasionally participate in new business pitches, The opportunity to work within the largest integrated agency in the UK, in stunning surroundings, with specialist departments including, animation, video production, planning, digital creative and development and social media

    Previous experience in a communications planning and/or media planning


  • Experience in an advertising, digital or media agency (or a combination of all three)


  • Experience with integrated advertising campaigns across multiple media channels and the ability to demonstrate their impact on the brand


  • Superior professionalism with clients and internal teams


  • Some experience analysing campaign performance and an understanding of the role analytics plays in selling and measuring ideas (including Google Analytics as a tool)


  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written skills as well as proven ability to develop well-written documents and eloquently present


  • Well organised and detail-oriented



  • Ambitious personality who is open to helping with any task

  • Ability to work under pressure and deadlines
