Full Job Description

The position of Security Team Leader ensures the customers, managers and employees are in compliance with site rules and relevant regulations outlined by regulatory agencies, that company policies and procedures are being followed, and that behaviour in the organisation meets the customer and company's standards of operational delivery.

To work with the customer and operational management team to develop effective training and operational plans to efficiently implement the agreed strategies to deliver continual improvement in operational performance across the contract in line with overall strategy.

It is essential that all personnel fully demonstrate commitment to Mitie Values and the CSE purpose of Security, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People.

Main Duties

  • Act as first line representative of the Security Management Team to deliver a complete professional and compliant operation.

  • Deliver and monitor effective site-specific training in order that all Security personnel can be successfully SQEP assessed by the customer,

  • Monitor the standards of compliance and behaviours of the Security Personnel against protocols, identifying performance standards, both good and bad.

  • Complete audits, ensuring CSE standards are met, effective documentation and reporting is achieved, and training requirements are highlighted.

  • The role will include utilising the scheduling platform to assist with covering gaps, managing last minute absences and covering holidays.

  • To ensure LLWR external and internal policies are followed, and the Security Team has a full knowledge of these policies.

  • Respond to security breaches, incidents and emergencies, conducting effective investigations, taking any necessary corrective action, and following agreed reporting lines.

  • To ensure the appearance and the functionality of the Security Teams are at a high standard, and that they have the necessary equipment in order to create a professional environment and an efficient and compliant service.

  • To lead, motivate, support and coach colleagues by setting the right personal example in the way duties are performed.

  • Assist with the development of colleagues by providing coaching and mentoring where appropriate.

  • Conduct and apply the disciplinary procedure where appropriate, maintaining stable and positive industrial relations.

  • To plan and anticipate tactical shortfalls in staff resourcing and take proactive and correct action.

  • Monitor labour turnover, absenteeism and performance standards to ensure that retention is greater than 75%.

    Experience of supporting improvement through training.

  • Previous experience in the security industry.

  • Developed and demonstrable understanding and experience of workplace training.

  • IOSH Managing Safely (or ability to obtain qualification).

  • being proactive with onsite documentation, risk assessments, work instructions, training packs etc.

  • SIA Licence required.

  • SC Clearance required (or ability to obtain qualification).

  • Full UK Driving Licence is required.
