Full Job Description

  • The legal merger & hive-up post holder will be providing support and guidance to the legal restructure controller and the Genpact Integration team. You will be ensuring the accurate financial reporting of any restructuring activity undertaken within the Group, and act as the coordinator between the stakeholders to ensure compliance and efficiency throughout the legal merger and hive-up processes.


  • This role is integral to ensuring the successful delivery of the ongoing Group Simplification Programme and represents the end phase of the acquisition lifecycle. You will report into the R2R Integration Tower Lead and sit within a team who manage the integration of all new acquisitions to the business.


  • Strong relationships with all departments will need to be built and maintained, whilst ensuring high levels of delivery and engagement.

You will help in leading and supporting the legal entity consolidation program, delivery,and transformation of our organization's legal entity structure. You will be part of a team of finance professionals, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and provide strategic direction to optimize global legal entities., You will be responsible for ensuring entities' overall readiness for restructuring, including co-ordination with respective teams to ensure reconciled balance sheets, clearance of future dated items, cleardown of intercompany balances, and cleared control accounts with associated P2P and O2C teams.


  • The post-holder will be responsible for performing legal merger & hive-up accounting entries, including transfer of data from associated fixed asset and intercompany modules


  • You will need to maintain a close working relationship with Integration R2R Managers and Genpact R2R teams, proactively managing teams to resolve issues and mitigate risks, with reporting and escalation of risks and issues that may impact restructuring activity


  • The post holder will need to be a forward thinker and provide ongoing continuous improvement R2R legal merger and asset hive-up processes.


  • They will also need to support the provision of ad-hoc reporting including power BI support.


  • Develop and support effective communication mechanisms between teams


  • Key Deliverables:

  • Legal merger & hive-up management with all stakeholders


  • R2R support & guidance for legal restructure projects


  • Legal merger & hive-up accounting journals, including transfer of data from associated fixed asset and intercompany modules


  • Liaising with eBIS to ensure combinations opened for timely posting of journals


  • Reporting on entity readiness, including review and management of balance sheets (where applicable)


  • Liaising with the in-country & Genpact teams for query resolution


  • Continuous review and improvement of R2R legal merger & asset hive-up processes

    This role requires a combination of strong project management skills, leadership skills, extensive knowledge of finance master data, procedures and technology, the ability to navigate complex finance processes and procedures, as well as the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders in a rapidly evolving organisation.

  • Experience of Open Accounts and/or Oracle would be advantageous but not essential.


  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a finance role


  • Minimum PQ ACCA/CIMA


  • Legal entity restructure exposure or experience in a similar role


  • Willingness to learn and develop


  • Investigative mind with problem solving skills


  • Initiative, ability to deal with complex transactions


  • Able to work to a high degree of accuracy

  • Proficient in using MS Office applications, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting (VLOOKUP's, Pivot tables, Concatenate, etc.)


  • Ability to work under pressure in a matrix environment with conflicting demands and deadlines. Extremely hands-on with the confidence to manage stakeholders and multi-disciplinary onsite and virtual teams
