Full Job Description

Due to our continued growth, we are excited to be recruiting for a Property Asset and Development Manager to join our CPL team in either Milton Keynes or Manchester, with the option to also work some days from home. The successful person will assist us in the growth and successful management of our portfolio and the delivery of a variety of interesting healthcare projects through all stages of the project lifecycle.

This role will support the Operational Head, FM/Building Managers and the wider Group in the successful delivery of development and other property related services, and offers a wide and varied range of activities within the healthcare sector.

In addition to undertaking traditional 'hands on' development and asset management activities, the role will also include elements of property and project management.

The extent of duties will be varied depending on the Company's business activities but are envisaged to include, but not be limited to:

  • The provision of services to our Joint Venture partners, including property management support, property consultancy services and the management and delivery of projects

  • Traditional asset management of the existing estate

  • Management of capital projects, potentially including new-build as well as changes to existing properties

  • Acquisition and leasing of properties

  • Project specific activities across our managed services property portfolio

  • The development of our corporate business proposals; including tender submissions

  • Provide support across our business-critical systems such as Quality Management, Risk Register, Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs), GDPR, Business Planning etc

  • Assist in the development and ongoing review and evaluation of the Company's Project Handbook

  • Oversee the collection, analysis, and reporting of data; liaising with the clients, key stakeholders, and suppliers as necessary to agreed timescales and deliverables; and

  • Provide management support services across the Group to meet our evolving needs; including production and issue of meeting notes, action checklists, project progress reports etc.

    The postholder is expected to demonstrate they have knowledge and/or experience in the following areas:

  • Asset Management or Development Management

  • Development and asset management industry best practices

  • Property management

  • End-to-end involvement in the delivery of projects; preferable within a refurbishment / construction environment

  • The ability to deal effectively and diplomatically with a wide range of people and situations

  • Contract administration i.e., undertaking contract administrator role etc

  • Commercial awareness, including good negotiation skills, with the ability to apply them in practice

  • Effective time management skills to plan and manage your own workload in accordance with budgetary requirements and support the wider Group requirements

  • Proficiency with desktop applications, e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Projects; and

  • The ability to deliver customer focused services to the highest standards.


  • The following would be desirable:
  • Understanding of the NHS organisational structure

  • Understanding of the healthcare technical standards including the Department of Health and Social Care Health Building Notes (HBNs) and Health Technical Memoranda (HTMs); and

  • Experience of working within a healthcare environment (from a consultancy, contractor, or healthcare provider background).

  • Be familiar with the general Health and Safety duties, roles, and responsibilities within an active construction type environment; including the requirements of The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015


  • Qualifications

    The postholder is expected to demonstrate as a minimum the following qualifications:
  • A good level of general education (BSc Hons Degree, A levels, BTEC, HND etc);

  • An appropriate Health & Safety qualification is desirable i.e., IOSH, NEBOSH etc; and

  • Professional status in a relevant organisation with ongoing CPD is desirable i.e., RICS, APM, CIOB etc.

  • The possession of a valid UK driving licence is essential for this post.

  • Salary £45,000.00 - £55,000.00 per annum, negotiable subject to qualifications and experience.

  • Discretionary 10% annual bonus.

  • 25 days of annual leave p.a. (Plus UK statutory bank holidays;) rising every 2 years to a maximum of 28 days p.a.
