Full Job Description

A typical day in the life of a Quality Controller is to review parts from our DB5 era to our current model. You'll be checking for visual marks and scratches followed by a technical inspection checking specifications against the technical information (metrics and imperials) using measuring equipment, and engineering drawings, you'll then pass and sign off parts that meet the stringent Aston Martin assurance targets whilst aiming for zero defects. Therefore, you must have a keen eye for detail and follow Aston Martins strict processes and procedures to ensure all our parts are of the highest pristine quality and all packaged and stored correctly. You'll be liaising with suppliers for products arriving at the centre and working closely with our Gaydon and St Athan production teams to ensure quality is of the highest level. You'll have exceptional communication skills as you'll be liaising verbally and in writing with our supply chain and procurement teams and our suppliers of inbound
shipments.

Training and support will be provided to bring you up to speed on our procedures and processes and once you've settled into the role you'll be able to make timely decisions on parts and quality.

It'll be rewarding knowing your stringent assessment of the parts and quality will help keep Aston Martins on the road and our customers happy.

This role is part of a small team, where you'll report directly to the Senior Manager - Warehouse, Logistics, and Quality. As part of the role, you'll also be working closely with Aftersales, R&D, Production, Quality, Finance, Suppliers, and external agencies.

Ideally, you'll be degree-educated within a mechanical engineering or quality control discipline or have sufficient experience gained within a similar role either within automotive, quality assurance, aerospace, or similar. It's advantageous if you have a working knowledge of ISO9001/14001.

We are looking for a confident, driven, and diplomatic person. You'll have exceptional communication skills and have the confidence to influence and persuade other teams and functions to meet deliverables and objectives where required. You'll have excellent time management and organisational skills as you'll be working to multiple ever-changing priorities/deadlines using your own judgment and pre-empting any issues before they may arise. You'll be highly proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

The work pattern for this role is Monday - Thursday 8am - 4.30pm and Friday 8am - 3.30pm due to the nature of the role this is a full-time onsite role at our Wolverton Mill site with occasional travel to St Athan and Gaydon HQ as and when required.
