Full Job Description

Pathology services within East Suffolk North Essex NHS Foundation Trust operate across two sites, Ipswich and Colchester. We are looking for an enthusiastic, ambitious, dedicated training lead to work with the pathology training manager, operations team and pathology quality team to support pan pathology training in order to help develop highly skilled staff.

You will be an HCPC registered biomedical scientist, with extensive experience of pathology services and will have evidence of supporting training, either in a dedicated training role or at specialist biomedical scientist level in an IBMS approved training laboratory. This post will provide you with an opportunity if you are wanting to experience a different role, with the aim of making a difference in the quality of the service.

As part of this role you will be required to work across Colchester and Ipswich Hospitals.

About our Pathology Service

  • You will be a member of the Training Team - (which is incorporated in the Pathology Quality and Governance team).

  • You will be responsible for engaging and embedding a quality culture with design implementation and maintenance of the quality function of the service with respect to training. You will work in collaboration with the operational Training Leads, Departmental Managers, and senior managers to ensure that pathology develops high quality teams allowing delivery of a high-quality service across both sites.

  • You will need to work closely with discipline specific training leads and senior management to ensure an efficient and effective corporate approach in dealing with all training matters.

  • You will promote continuous improvement in service quality within the training scope, assuring regulatory and accreditation requirements to ISO 15189, MHRA, HSE, and others as required.
