Full Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Technician to join our existing team in The Orthotics Department, Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore.

The Role:

To provide a high-quality service in line with Steeper's / RNOH Trust standards and be able to communicate sensitively and effectively with a wide range of people including medical and clinical staff, patients, colleagues and other outside agencies.

The post holder will work as part of the technical team, learning the art of orthotic manufacture and specialize in the CAD CAM technology on site.

This role will be responsible for effective use of the CAD CAM system, storage of CAD CAM files and desktop system files. You will be expected to cover stores to cover periods of annual leave.

Responsibilities:

  • Manufacture Orthotic Devices, either CAD CAM or hand cast devices.

  • Work with the Workshop Team Leader and Patient Services Co-ordinator (PSCO) to receipt in purchase orders via the Steeper stock control system.

  • Organise and receive the organise goods and collate them with orders raised

  • Deal with any enquiries from Steeper staff, customers, suppliers or the public quickly and efficiently.

  • Understand the range of products within the orthotic market. Responsible for ensuring the integrity of the system and that it meets the requirements of the Data Protection Act.

  • Highlight any problems to the manager promptly so that they can be resolved quickly

  • Abide by the company's health and safety policy while in the workshop, stores and office.

  • Ability to cover PSCO & Stores staff annual leave & sickness

    CAD CAM Experience (desirable - training to be provided)
