The Opportunity...

At Hinkley Point C (HPC) we are building two new nuclear reactors, the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations in the UK providing low carbon electricity for around six million homes.

As an Operational Development Engineer, you will be supporting the spares management process, providing technical control over the compliance of plant spares.

We are looking for someone with experience in Maintenance, Planning, Engineering or Project Management with an interest in working in the Procurement Engineering field and becoming authorised for the role. You will be supported and have access to the necessary training and technical documentation required to fulfil your role, with the support of the Lead Procurement Engineer and relevant experts within the business.,

  • Taking ownership for the delivery of key elements of the Procurement Engineering Strategy for HPC operational readiness.

  • Managing issues in support of the delivery of the Procurement Engineering Strategy for HPC operational readiness.

  • Using Digital Tools to perform technical evaluations of plant spares.

  • Supporting the operational spares catalogue production by creating catalogue identifiers, applying quality assurance grades to catalogue deliverables and quality reviews of the catalogue deliverables.

  • Being involved with and providing input into the development of the Digital Tools.

  • Supporting the quality control inspections of operational spares.

  • Creating operational process documents for procurement engineering/Spares Management.

    Minimum requirement Engineering background with Level 4 HNC or equivalent qualification.

  • Experience working in Procurement Engineering, Supply chain, Maintenance or Engineering.

  • Understanding of inventory and procurement processes, and experience in logistics management.

  • Experience in operating key asset management tools (Asset Management System) and data reporting tools.

  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering specific knowledge.

  • Experience in a project environment.

  • Comfortable following processes with a healthy questioning attitude.
