Multi Skilled Engineer

As a Multi Skilled Shift Engineer, you will take responsibility for engineering repair, corrective and planned preventative maintenance of the site. You will be reacting to the workload to meet the day-to-day engineering tasks and activities required to ensure line performance is at its maximum with the guidance of the engineering manager. You will work closely with the Engineering Management team to contribute and assist with the development of our people, processes and systems to deliver reliable and stable performance of the Engineering function.

What you'll do:

• Complete the PPM schedules in a timely manner and react to breakdowns as they occur. Complete the work that comes from Audits, Work Requests and PPM follow ups.


• Design and program PLC systems to control machinery and industrial processes.


• Develop PLC code, logic diagrams, and human-machine interface (HMI) applications.


• Modify and troubleshoot existing PLC programs as needed.


• Ensure you apply Health and Safety and Food Safety standards to all work undertaken.


• Support all staff within your team and ensure targets/kpi's are achieved.


• Manage Health and Safety of external contractors on site when required and ensure those areas are clean and tidy upon completion.


• Ensure all machinery/equipment meets site standards and all sub conditions are dealt with or escalated accordingly.


• Control and manage the ordering and quantity of engineering spares to ensure effective stock levels.


• Maintain excellent housekeeping standards across all engineering areas.Communicate effectively across all levels of management and all departments in relation to any engineering activities and breakdowns.

• Minimum of NVQ 3 or equivalent qualification


• Preferably a background in within food production


• A commitment to food safety and quality standards that's as solid as a scoop of houmous on a pitta bread., Engineering: 1 year (preferred)
