Full Job Description

Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you will provide the experience and expertise necessary to effectively interpret client requirements for Control Panels, advise on design scope, prepare quotations and coordinate delivery of converted jobs in compliance with designs and specifications.,

  • Interpret client requirements and develop project scope for handover to the Design Team

  • Define technical content and assist in the preparation of Quotes

  • Support the Manufacturing Manager in the presentation of proposals to clients

  • Validate the project scope, BOM and technical content of Jobs won

  • Task Operations for the Procurement of parts to BOM

  • Coordinate the schedule for assembly with Lead Panel Builders in line with delivery requirements

  • Technically support the Lead Panel Builders and coordinate completion of Drawings updates (Red Penning)

  • Collaborate with colleagues on Continuous Improvement initiatives

  • Assess all tasks for completeness and report any issues or variations

  • Adopt safe systems of work (RAMS) and observe the requirements of any Permit to Work issued by site Duty Holders

  • Ensure all tools and equipment in use are certified and/or calibrated

  • Maintain positive relationships with colleagues, subcontractors and other third parties

    Already an experienced engineer, you will demonstrate broad capabilities in understanding control panel design, assembly and testing through your time working in a similar industrial sector., +5 years experience in the design and assembly of industrial control panels with experience of PLC systems

  • The ability to read and understand electrical schematics and an understanding of the functionality of electrical switchgear

  • Highly IT literate with experience of working on own initiative

  • Degree/HND in Electrical biased Engineering discipline

  • NVQ Level 3 Electrotechnical Services - Panel Wiring / Panel Builder or Mechanical Manufacture Engineering (fitting and assembly) or equivalent Approved Apprenticeship in Panel Wiring /Panel Building
