Full Job Description

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities by performing routine maintenance tasks, responding to emergency repair needs, and contributing and upholding the creation of maintenance strategies. This role requires a proactive approach to prevent disruptions to business activities and ensure a safe working environment for all employees.

To deliver a high-quality maintenance service using in house and third-party resources including liaising with all relevant parties to ensure works are completed to timescale with minimal impact.

Key Accountability

The Maintenance Technician will ensure that we meet the requirements set out in our Integrated Management System while ensuring that health and safety is a priority. Ensure that documentation (service reports, test results etc) is scanned and filed in the appropriate area within the IMS and available for audit inspection.

Servicing and inspections of buildings and grounds are completed on time and results stored within the appropriate IT system.

Carries out ad hoc repairs, cleaning, and basic decorating, prioritising tasks that keep the business running efficiently.

  • Proven experience in buildings maintenance, repair, or a related field within a commercial environment.

  • Proficiency in using maintenance tools and equipment.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to respond to emergencies.

  • Experience of maintenance repairs, such as electrical, and plumbing.

  • To have an understanding of Quality Standards such as ISO9001, ISO450001, and or ISO14001 or other applicable standards.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance tasks performed and parts used.

  • Experience in managing external contractors.

  • An understanding of risk assessments and how to create them.
