Full Job Description

  • Complying with all applicable safety rules, policies and procedures

  • Planned preventative maintenance activities on plant equipment

  • Recording details of breakdowns and repair where necessary to facilitate further analysis

  • Taking account for your own work and in some instances will be required to work alongside specialist contractors

  • Participating in reliability centred maintenance activities, including root cause analysis and continuous improvement

  • Carrying out planned maintenance, fault diagnosis and repair on the mechanical systems associated with any of the above

    Mechanical Modern Apprenticeship/ NVQ Level 3/ equivalent qualification and experience within a Mechanical discipline

  • Experience of bench fitting skills including use of hands tools

  • Knowledge of fault finding of complex mechanical machinery including hydraulic and pneumatic systems


  • Desirable:
  • Knowledge and experience of fault finding on equipment with Computer Numeric Control/ Programme Logic Control systems

  • Understanding of various mechanical power transmission (e.g. bearings, belts, chains, mechanical couplings etc.)

  • Knowledge of instrumentation control hydraulic, pneumatic, temperature and chemical process

  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and schematics
