Full Job Description

The post holder will have the opportunity to assist in all aspects related to keeping accurate and reproducible records which form the basis of strategic decisions regarding the MHRA's biological product portfolio. The Post holder will lead the yearly stock-counting and housekeeping activities. Development opportunities exist in this role, through gaining certifications needed to fulfil activities.,

  • To manage and administrate the stock control of the MHRA science centre's product catalogue using a bespoke software system (ERP) to ensure the data meets financial regulatory standards as set by the National Audit Office (NAO). Accurate data is maintained at all times and is ready to use 'live' by senior management.


  • To use specialist knowledge to support senior management in providing data, advice, guidance and information concerning stock control including storage, stock counts, security of product etc.


  • To provide advice, guidance and suggests solutions to all levels of staff regarding the MHRA science centre's inventory management processes and procedures.

  • To assist with the design and development of the ERP system collaborating with external providers and SPD staff through meetings, communication and process development., We use the Civil Service Success Profiles to assess our candidates, find out more here.

  • Significant experience of working in Supply Chain Management / stock control / warehouse-type environment particularly in a dynamic customer facing environment, working at pace to address customer/product issues, Candidates will be subject to UK immigration requirements as well as Civil Service nationality rules.     The Science, Research & Innovation group delivers public health impact, world-leading research innovation, and a unique regulatory proposition for patients and users via an ambitious Science Strategy which will balance innovation against sustainability and affordability. It is divided into 4 sub-Groups, Research and Development, Standards Lifecycle, Control Testing and Quality Assurance and Health & Safety.

    The role sits within the Market Analysis, Manufacturing & Logistics Department (MML), which is a specialist production, storage and dispatch facility within MHRA's science centre, supported by technical functions. CBRM produces candidate biological reference materials many of which become World Health Organization Biological Standards. These are the world's primary reference material for a biological entity. They are used by industry, regulatory authorities and researchers world-wide. CBRM is the only production /storage /order /dispatch point for these materials.

    This is a full-time opportunity, on a permanent basis. The role will be based at our science campus in South Mimms, Hertfordshire. Please be aware that this role can only be worked in the UK and not overseas.
