Full Job Description

You will make a difference by being the main point of contact for business organisations, traders, businesses and community groups and will lead High Street initiatives and projects on behalf of the Council as we continue to transform and support our high streets and town centres.
This post is restricted to permanent and temporary employees of South Gloucestershire Council only.
We are also offering this as an internal secondment opportunity, you should first seek your line managers permission before applying.
This is a limited term contract until 31 March 2027.
What will you be doing?

  • Working collaboratively, you will continue to develop the Council's relationships with existing Chambers of Commerce and other High Street associations and in conjunction with other stakeholders will lead the partnership meetings.

  • In the role you will respond to High Street related enquiries and help businesses navigate and access other Council services.

  • In the role you will help support and where necessary lead the design and delivery of Hight Street events.

  • You will help design and deliver a programme of High Street projects, and other initiatives being undertaken by the Council to support our High Streets and allow them to recover.

    You will hold a degree in a relevant subject, or be able to demonstrate an equivalent level of knowledge and experience.

  • It is essential you understand how project management methodologies should be applied both accurately and effectively on all projects.

  • We require you to have excellent organisation and administrative skills with the ability to priorities and organise your own workload.

  • You will have excellent communication skills and enjoy working with a wide variety of stakeholders out in the community.
