Full Job Description

Tom White Waste is seeking a workshop team leader. 45hrs per week, Monday to Friday with overtime on offer daily and weekends. Core operational hours are between 0600 - 1700 with the technicians on a rotation to cover the operation within their contracted hours. X2 30 minute breaks. £44,000 annual salary with the potential to earn easily over £50,000 with overtime., The Workshop team leader is the direct link between the shop floor personnel and Workshop Manager. Working closely with the Workshop Manager, the Workshop team leader would drive the required repairs forward from a VOR and inspections list to increase and maintain vehicle availability. Triaging repairs based on the teams' capabilities and customer requirements. This individual would be looked towards to raise the standards of repairs and maintenance, keeping good order of the workshop and assisting in problem solving. This role would also require a balance between workshop admin and staff direction as well as contributing to vehicle maintenance including servicing, inspections, defect repairs, MOT preparations as well as any other work requested by the Workshop Manager. You will be a diligent, motivated individual who perseveres to deliver only quality output and strive to complete tasks right first time.

  • A qualification in a mechanical discipline.

  • Experience working on light and heavy goods vehicles.

  • Experience in the use of diagnostics equipment or the ability to learn.

  • Experience of leading small teams or shows an aptitude for moving into this type of role with some guidance.

  • Full UK Driving Licence.

  • Understanding of MOT standards and legal compliance.

  • Understanding of 6 weekly service inspections and legal compliance to VOSA standards.

  • Ability to inspire and lead, driving high standards of quality.

  • High motivated.

  • Must have own tools - Air tools, torque wrenches etc provided. If not able to provide own tools the company is willing to do so at cost price with an agreed salary contribution straight from individuals pay.

  • Good housekeeping of key documentation.

  • Knowledge of workshop H&S practices.

  • Computer-literate.
