Full Job Description

This is a front of house position based on reception at the Glenfield Centre. The hours of work are 08:15 to 17:30 Monday to Friday. Occasional earlier morning, late evening or weekend hours may be required.

This role will cover a wide range of telephone answering, admin and operational services for clients within Glenfield Business Centre (GBC) as well as in-house staff, and on occasion those from Donington Business Centre (DBC) and Ashby de la Zouch (ADLZ),

  • Answer all telephone calls in a professional but polite and friendly manner within three rings.

  • Delivering work of an extremely high standard in the timescales agreed with the client.

  • Creating and managing a reception that is welcoming, comfortable and always smart in appearance. Monitor and maintain standards of the communal areas throughout the site.

  • Responding to clients/visitors in a friendly, approachable manner but always presenting a professional image.

  • Manage Meeting Rooms and meetings including refreshments, buffets and administrative support.

  • Managing Search Engine optimization

  • Oversee support staff for maintenance and cleaning.

  • Being able to prioritise a varied and changing workload.

  • Developing good client relationships, noticing any buying/selling opportunities.

  • General tea/coffee making for visitors/clients. Keeping the daily consumables replenished and stock maintained.

  • Assist the Centre Manager with operational issues for the smooth management of the centre operations.

  • Assist with client arrivals, moves and departures including ensuring offices are re-decorated and re-dressed appropriately.

  • Support sales and marketing tasks and activities.


  • Progressing to overall position - Assistant Manager

    This is a supportive role, assisting and reporting directly to the Centre Manager of dbs managed offices, Glenfield for the performance of the centre. The Assistant Manager will be expected to present a professional image at all times and through his/her attitude and behaviour, promote dbs values and beliefs to clients. He/she will report to the Centre & General Manager and will work across the 3 dbs centres but predominantly Glenfield.
  • He/she will be responsible, jointly, with the Glenfield Centre Manager, for the sales and operational aspects at the Ashby de la Zouch centre.

  • He/she will conduct client visits across the 3 centres.

  • He/she will assist with client arrivals and departures and ensuring available offices are decorated and dressed rapidly for showing.


  • The Assistant Manager will be jointly responsible for the operational performance and management support systems for all centres and for ensuring high quality support service delivery to dbs clients. The successful candidate will assist in managing support staff to maintain a positive and productive working environment and to deliver results through a conciliative management style.

    He/she will be jointly responsible for setting and delivering to budgets and for management of purchasing for both everyday consumables and researching and recommending strategic and capital investments., To provide support when necessary to the Glenfield Centre Manager, General Manager and Managing Director to enable dbs to achieve its growth aspirations according to the business strategy and to ensure continued profit growth.

  • To possess good organisational skills and apply a detailed and systematic approach to office management and sales.

  • Be able to adopt a creative and innovative approach to problem solving.

  • To have confidence in communicating effectively with a variety of people at all levels. Good interpersonal skills are essential.

  • Must have good commercial skills and an understanding of how various scenarios and issues impact on the business and the ability to spot and seek business opportunities.

  • An understanding of the impact of price on profit and the importance of reaching win/win solutions in negotiation.

  • To be customer service orientated but also to ensure that the opportunities are taken to extract money for the value we provide.

  • To be able to sell in a confident and persuasive manner - communicating with people at all levels, and all walks of life.

  • Have the drive and determination to carry a sale right through to closure. To be able toadopt a resourceful and innovative approach to the sales process.

  • Relate to the market and have an understanding of competitors and business trends.

  • Analyse this information to propose initiatives to develop the 3 Centre's services.

  • Ability to sell the Centre's services by listening to customer's needs and selling the related benefits. Continuously asses what customers perceive are the valuable benefits that differentiate the Centre and its services from the competition.

  • Interpret financial statements that provide the basis for planning and performance monitoring and the ability to develop budgets and set targets.

  • The ability to lead and motivate staff - to be open, share information and work with people, to recognise and develop the skills of others and provide guidance and support where necessary.

  • The drive and determination to see things through to a conclusion.

  • A knowledge of telecoms and IT would be desirable., Supervising experience: 1 year (preferred)

  • Bar management: 1 year (preferred)

  • Hospitality: 1 year (preferred)

  • Customer service: 1 year (preferred)

  • Management: 1 year (preferred)
