Full Job Description

Your primary responsibilities will include (though will not be limited to):

  • Invoicing management to include the processing of both customer and supplier invoices and statements.

  • Provide credit control, ensuring customers pay within their agreed payment terms.

  • Supplier invoice checking, coding and posting in Dext, including the resolution of any discrepancies.

  • Maintain an accurate record of financial transactions.

  • Daily Bank Reconciliations in Xero (across multiple companies).

  • Handling supplier, customer, and centre team queries on a timely basis.

  • Providing administrative support to the finance team as needed.

  • Additional bookkeeping duties as designated by management (e.g. Soldo administration).

  • Assist with preparing reports and information required for board meetings.

  • Accessing Government Gateway und understanding of statutory reporting obligations.

The Finance Assistant will play a key role in supporting our finance department with various administrative and financial tasks., The successful candidate must have/be:

  • Previous finance experience is essential.

  • An AAT qualification or equivalent would be an advantage.

  • Good attention to detail to enter correct data into financial records and recognise errors.

  • Mathematics skills for accurate record-keeping.

  • Administrative skills for filing financial records.

  • Computer literacy, especially familiarity with spreadsheets, databases and accounting software such as Microsoft Office and Xero.

  • Multi-tasking and organisational skills to manage different financial duties, including the ability to prioritise tasks in order to meet deadlines.

  • Interpersonal and customer service skills for dealing with customers, suppliers and other employees in the accounts department.

  • A proactive and enthusiastic approach with a problem solving mind-set.

  • Communication skills, including the ability to explain complex financial matters in accessible terms.

  • Work to a high standard in a fast-paced environment.

  • Have a positive 'can do' attitude with a willingness to learn.
