Full Job Description

We are looking for an incredibly organised and reliable Exams Officer and Administrator to join our school office team! Could that be you?

You will play a crucial role in supporting the administration of formal examinations, invigilation and administrative functioning of the school.

About the Role and You

Contract type: Permanent, Full-Time

Salary: £23,796 per annum

Start date: August 2024

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Excellent written and spoken English.

  • Being detail orientated.

  • Administer all external and internal examinations, including liaison with the Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) and examination boards.

  • Ensuring all entries are processed in accordance with the examination board regulations and deadlines.

  • Keep up to date with the requirements of the role, including the latest procedures and regulations for external examinations.

  • Devise and maintain office systems, including filling, records, agendas, minutes, records and other documents.

  • Liaise with the Senior Deputy Head, Heads of Key Stage and Heads of Department to ensure that exam entries are processed accurately and deadlines are adhered to.

  • Prepare and update all examination entries, including financial estimates of exam fees.

  • Provide relevant data in respect of entries, fees and late fees.

  • Be responsible for the organisation of the examination timetable.

  • Liaise with the Senior Deputy Head, Heads of Key Stage and Heads of Department.


  • About You

    We are looking for someone who has:
  • Bachelor degree (desirable).

  • A-Levels or equivalent (essential).

  • Previous experience within a similar role. (essential)

  • Invigilation experience with administrative and organisational skills.

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

  • A strong work ethic.
