Full Job Description

This is a non riding position with all general yard duties plus learning and assisting within a state of the art Rehab Centre . All general horse care duties required including:

  • Mucking Out

  • Grooming

  • Lunging

  • Turning in and out

    Functional Skills in maths and English if required


  • The successful candidate can expect to undertake a minimum of 12 months' training which will take place out at the employer's premises, with the support of the employer, and will be carried out by Haddon Training., Communication skills, Attention to detail, Organisation skills, Problem solving skills, Analytical skills, Logical, Team working, Initiative, Non judgemental, Patience, Physical fitness, GCSE or equivalent English (Grade 4) Desired
    GCSE or equivalent Maths (Grade 4) Desired, Existing equine experience is required. Accommodation for successful candidate . Wages dependent on experience - which will be discussed with the employer.

    Saywell Equestrian is a equine rehabilitation centre based in Newark, that offer a wide range of therapy methods. International SJ and Coach Andrew Saywell are also based at the centre.

    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
