Full Job Description

You'll provide technical oversight and become a signatory within the Quality Management System. You'll also provide technical specifications and assessments for the supply of spares across the Fleet. A large part of your role will be focused on building and maintaining excellent relationships with all of our internal and external contractors.

Ideally, you will have a minimum of 3 year's experience working with large turbines, generators and their associated generation equipment alongside either a Degree or HND in a relevant Engineering subject. If you're working towards or already part of a Professional Association that would be great (but not mandatory!).

You'll have awareness of methodologies related to repair, refurbishment and modification ideally of Steam Turbines and Generators.

Past experience of adhering to Work Management processes and procedures would be advantageous as our environment is heavily regulated, with various site licence conditions, regulations and procedures in place to ensure safety for colleagues, the public and the environment.

What you'll be doing

You'll carry out regular plant assessments, recommending an engineering programme of work for Station outages and maintenance as well as planning and working towards future operational strategy, proposing engineering plant modifications that will help in the long-term reliable, safe generation of power. You'll also provide fault diagnosis and solutions for turbine, generator and other plant equipment.

Plant performance data will be assessed and analysed, utilising best practice, new innovative design and engineering solutions that you'll propose and implement to support the Fleets engineering responses. You'll contribute to departmental and Fleet wide Business Plans driving performance improvement throughout the Business.

We offer a competitive salary ranging from £39,558 - £71,783, a company pension scheme, paid holidays and a range of flexible benefits with terms and conditions covered by the EDF Nuclear Generation Collective Agreement. The starting salary will be dependent on your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.
