Full Job Description

As a Barclays EMEA Business Manager, you'll assist the Fixed Income Credit EMEA business by fostering effective integration with the Credit Client Strategy team through partnering in business and client reviews and planning strategic goals and associated actions to achieve them. The FI Credit EMEA business primarily trades bonds, credit default swaps, total return swaps, exchange traded funds, and loans. You'll also help the Global Credit COO team, as well as EM FIC Sales globally including international sales, local sales and corporates., At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home. We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, 'anchor', days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). What will you be doing?

  • Providing daily business support to Credit Sales & Trading and the EM FIC Sales team

  • Engaging and communicating with relevant stakeholders in IT, Product Control, Risk, Operations, etc. to achieve business goals

  • Developing and optimizing business processes including working on issues relating to trading systems, risk systems and other trading orientated initiatives

  • Leading as a representative on senior level working groups, forums, and committees internally and possibly externally

  • Overseeing Human Resource process (e.g. leavers/movers/joiner controls, mandatory leave status, appraisals, training)

  • Owning and being accountable for global regulatory projects as well as ad hoc reporting and projects

  • Overseeing and leading expense management as well as budgets and performance management

  • Liaising with infrastructure partners on Audits, Compliance and Risk reviews, Conformance Testing, and Unauthorized Trading reviews

    Excellent team player who can work well and competently in high intensity and pressure environments

  • Fast learner with the ability to use their initiative and apply knowledge to new situations

  • Excellent project management skills

  • Excellent communicator especially to senior stakeholders


  • Skills that will help you in the role:
  • Rates product knowledge or has experience working with sales colleagues regularly is/are desirable but not essential

  • Exceptional and proven organisational skills

  • Proven excellent numeracy and verbal reasoning skills

  • Excellent MS Excel and PowerPoint skills at preparing presentations
