Full Job Description

The Post

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic EAL Teacher to start in September 2024. The role is to provide transitional support to children who have English as an additional language.

The primary duty of the EAL Teacher is to make education inclusive to students, by providing support to the form teachers in helping the pupil progress with their use of and understanding of English, as well as the supervision, provision and development of specific support for identified students, ensuring their safety and access to learning.

For the successful candidate, a TEFL teaching qualification is essential, as well as experience of working directly with, and supporting the learning of, students in an education or training environment. Caring and enthusiastic, they will be energetic and possess the ability to enthuse our pupils to imagine, explore and develop. Friendly and approachable, they will be able to build outstanding relations with children, staff and the wider school community.

The School

Alongside an excellent all-round education, we pride ourselves in offering children a wealth of opportunities to participate in sports, the arts, drama and music, as well as a wide variety of extra-curricular activities. The school week runs from Monday to Friday, and we offer optional boarding up to four nights a week, as well as a rich and varied extra-curricular programme.
