Duty Officer

We are seeking a highly responsible and vigilant Duty Officer to join our team. Allendale Community Centre is a busy multi purpose venue at the heart of Wimborne, supporting the community with a wide range of activities, fitness groups and classes for all ages, performing arts and live music. The centre includes its own theatre, cinema, studio and regularly hosts large events, parties and festivals.

As a Duty Officer, you will be responsible for preparing halls and rooms for events, liaising with event organisers, opening and closing the centre, and maintaining a high level of cleanliness throughout the centre. Your keen attention to detail and customer service skills will be essential in this role.,

• Carry out and/or assist with room set ups and changeovers, including chairs, tables and portable equipment.


• Assist customers with enquiries and ticket sales as and when required.


• Open and/or close the building as and when required including deactivating/activating the alarm system.


• Ensure at all times that the health and safety of the community centre users is considered, and any potential risks are minimised when cleaning public areas.


• Cover Reception during evening/weekend shifts when required.


• Assist other teams within the centre when required, such as the café staff, technical team, and Wimborne Community Food Supply.


• Service and maintain a high level of of cleanliness in all areas of the Allendale Centre.


• Check the centre's facilities and log any identified maintenance that requires resolution.


• Exercise a high level of discretion in dealing with personal and confidential information.


Training will be supplied by Allendale Community Centre, including all appropriate health & safety training, safeguarding, and manual handling courses as required. First aid training and other courses may also be made available wherever possible.
