DEPUTY HEADTEACHER

GROUP 3, L12-L16

The governors of Sandycroft CP School are seeking to appoint a new deputy headteacher to their team following the promotion of the current deputy, to the position of headteacher of the school. The school prides itself on being a learning organisation where all pupils and staff are encouraged to challenge themselves to constantly learn and develop. This is done in a high challenge, low threat culture, where pupil and staff wellbeing are of paramount importance. The relationships we have with our pupils, parents, staff and wider community are excellent and have been built up over many years; the new deputy will be critical to maintaining this.

This is a fabulous opportunity for the new deputy to work in a true and open partnership with the headteacher. The headteacher and deputy headteacher will work closely to drive school further forward This is a great opportunity to prepare for headship.

· Is an exemplary classroom practitioner who inspires and leads children and staff to take risks and believes that everyone can excel.

· Has excellent understanding of the Curriculum for Wales and its implementation.

· Will take a lead role in maintaining and developing the high standards that currently exist throughout the school.

· Has the enthusiasm, energy and ability to inspire, motivate, challenge and support others at all stages of their professional development.

· Is a strong team leader with effective interpersonal skills, who can work closely with our highly effective SLT.

· Has excellent communication skills to work in partnership with children, parents/carers, staff, governors and the local and wider community.

· Is committed to their own personal development, will already be an Estyn Peer inspector or keen to develop into this role.

· Understands how to generate income for school such as leading a Community Interest Company (CIC), successfully gaining grants or through leading training.

    About the role -

    Group 3 School: Current NOR : 364

    The post will not have a class teaching responsibility but will be teaching 0.4 across the school in order to deliver our curriculum. This teaching commitment may increase or decrease depending on the budget situation.
