Full Job Description

The Careers and Personal Guidance team provide information, advice and guidance for students to support and empower them to achieve their career goals. Reporting to the Careers and Personal Guidance Manager, Customer Service Advisors play an integral role in supporting students and prospective students to plan their career progression.

Based in the Student Services Hubs, you will provide frontline support for students, parents and prospective students, to support them to make informed choices about education and training options at Cambridge Regional College. You will work collaboratively with the wider team to support students and prospective students to transition to college, such as assisting with open days and tours of the college.

Primary duties include:

-Providing high quality information and advice on education and training options.

-Monitoring and responding to course enquiries via email, telephone and in person.

-Facilitating a 'drop in' service, offering information and advice to students to support their progression.

-Work collaboratively to identify customer needs and refer to relevant services.

-Identify the needs of students accessing the service by offering initial information and advice and triaging the need for personal guidance.

-Monitor and respond to referrals for careers support, including booking appointments for personal guidance.

This role is based on campus, with flexibility to work between Cambridge and Huntingdon campuses.

Excellent customer service skills.

-Effective verbal and written communication skills.

-A thorough approach to interpreting customer need and problem-solving queries.

-Initiative to find customer-focused solutions.

-Ability to record and administer data accurately.

-Willingness to work collaboratively and adapt tasks in response to need.

-A good understanding of GDPR and relevant procedures to keep information secure.

-A good understanding of safeguarding and responsibilities when supporting young people and vulnerable adults.

To apply, you must have:

-Experience of providing high quality customer service.

-Experience of working in an information, advice and/or guidance setting.

-Level 2 English and Maths qualifications (or equivalent).

-A qualification in IAG or a similar discipline at Level 2 or above is desired.

£22,169 - £22,724 pro rata per annum

You will join us on a part time basis and in return you will receive a salary of between £22,169 - £22,724 pro rata per annum, plus staff benefits.
