Full Job Description

The Customer Export Representative will be responsible for organising the shipping and export of orders to a global customer base in a busy sales and customer service environment. Proactively handle customer inquiries and ensure all administration on export is efficient, effective and in line with company's standard and policies.
The role needs to work with a diverse group of people from internal to external stakeholders as well as being able to develop new ways of working that help continually improve the overall efficiency in export.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  • Processing shipments to a global customer base.

  • Preparation of export shipping documentation.

  • Booking of & liaising with Freight Forwarders.

  • Chasing up, checking and storing export declarations/AWB's to ensure export compliance.

  • Liaison with customers and other internal departments.

  • Responding to Export & Invoice Queries.

  • Cover for other team members when required, including order entry and sending order confirmations.

  • Manage contract review process to ensure compliance to Lands T & C's and DLA process.

  • Review interpret and enter data into internal databases, SAP ERP or CRM tools.

  • Interface and support our international offices, representatives and distributors.

  • Promote/participate continuous improvement in customer service standards to increase profitability.

  • Other tasks assigned by Supervisor from time to time.

    Self-motivated with a high attention to detail and ability to multitask under demanding deadlines.

  • A positive attitude, strong drive for results, and the ability to deal with ambiguity are a must.

  • Demonstrates good judgement in analyzing information to make routine decisions.

  • Co-operates and collaborates with colleagues, cross functionally, to support the sales process.

  • Open to receiving feedback and applying/integrating the feedback in an effort to improve results.

  • Strong in building relationships and able to communicate at all levels.

  • Good team player but also able to work on own initiative.


  • Experience, Professional Qualifications and Personal Requirements:
  • 3-5 years experience in Customer Service environment.

  • Previous experience of SAP Business Systems is desirable.

  • Familiarity with export procedures & documentation.

  • Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous.

  • Computer literate and comfortable using Microsoft products.

  • Good problem-solving skills, communication, influencing and assertiveness.

  • Outstanding customer service and relationship building.
