Full Job Description

Comberton Village College is looking to appoint a Cover Supervisor to support our teaching team and facilitate the smooth and effective delivery of the curriculum across all subject areas. The role of a Cover Supervisor demands initiative, flexibility and calm demeanour.

Your focus will be on supporting progress by providing classroom supervision for students whose regular teacher is absent. You will be expected to deliver pre-planned learning activities and establish productive working relationships with students in a stimulating and orderly learning environment.

For suitably qualified individuals this could also include supervision of physical education lessons and an ability to cover our medical room would be advantageous (training can be provided, where necessary). Experience of supervising young people within a similar setting is essential as is the ability to safely manage classroom activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to gain experience working with secondary age children and would be an ideal position for someone looking to develop valuable skills towards a possible teaching career in the future.

The Cam Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, prohibition from teaching check, section 128 check (as required) and a medical questionnaire.

We recognise that safeguarding against radicalisation is as important as safeguarding against any other vulnerability. As such, all staff are expected to uphold and promote the fundamental principles of British values, including democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect, and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. We believe that everyone should be treated with respect whatever their race, gender, sexuality, religious belief, special need, or disability. As part of our commitment to safeguarding and child protection we fully support the Government's Prevent Strategy.
