Full Job Description

To welcome all patients and staff within the department in a professional manner, making them feel comfortable and at ease and to direct them to the appropriate area. Answer telephone enquiries in an appropriate manner reporting information to patients, nursing staff and other members of the multi-disciplinary team. Maintain good written and verbal communication between all departments and outside agencies. Use the computerised patient management system (E-Camis) to access patient details, update information and make appointments. Be responsible for the ordering of stock and to ensure adequate levels are maintained. Photocopy documents/notes as required. Locate, collate, file and store patients notes as appropriate. This may involve going to Medical Records and various departments to collect notes at short notice. Deal appropriately with distressed patients and/or relatives with support from nursing staff. Report any problems relevant to the department to the lead clinician or line
