Remote role

Overall Job Purpose

You will as a Claims Assessor- Specialist assess Life Cover, Terminal Illness and Critical Illness Cover in line with current UK industry best practice. As part of your role you will support the training of other assessors to be able to assess these claims.

Although this role is home based we may ask you to work from the office from time to time.

Responsibilities

  • Assess validity of claims submitted.- This assessment must follow current UK industry-leading claims practice and will include obtaining medical and other evidence as well as drafting and issuing claims decision letters and other claims related correspondence

  • Identifying possible fraud, non-disclosure, misrepresentation, and pre-existing conditions

  • Work with the strategic underwriters, management, reinsurers, and other stakeholders to ensure the swift and correct outcome of a claim

  • This will be a variety of mentoring and coaching of junior stuff members, including holding case study sessions and delivering training on specific topics

  • Assisting with Complaint resolution

    Medical qualification

  • A broad experience of assessing and managing Life Cover and tiered Criterial Illness claims

  • A detailed knowledge of the UK insurance market and regulatory environment

  • Experience of dealing directly and effectively with the FOS on claims related matters

  • Good experience of working with reinsurers

  • Presenting ideas and training peers

  • An advanced level of Communication Skills (verbal & written)

  • Intermediate skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and usual Office apps

  • CII claims qualification
