Full Job Description

  • Learn the process of understanding drawings and work in accordance with specifications

  • Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed

  • Follow health & safety policy and procedures, including the wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE) where needed

  • Use various tools, equipment and materials safely


  • Installation of the following:
  • Joists

  • Roofing

  • First fixing

  • Window installation

  • Cladding

  • Decking

  • Second fixing

  • Kitchen installation

  • Finals

    We are currently looking for candidates who are interested in becoming apprentices and joining the carpentry sector of the building world. This will be a 3-year course where you'll work under the guidance and direction of an experienced carpenter or craftsperson, you'll carry out all aspects of carpentry from new build homes to refurbishments., Communication skills, Attention to detail, Logical, Team working, Initiative, GCSE or equivalent Maths and English (Grade Minimum Level 3) Desired

  • Other CSCS Card (Grade This is required for site work) Essential

    PGM Carpentry manages the carpentry requirements across over 40 new build sites including the whole of Essex, Suffolk and London. We strive on making sure our work is up to standards and take pride in making sure our workforce is taken care of!

    For the 1st year it will be the apprenticeship minimum wage but the 2nd year it goes to the national minimum wage

    Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that's part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
