Balfour Beatty have a fantastic opportunity for a Benchmarking Engineer/Estimator/Quantity Surveyor to join our Major Projects team, this role will be based at Canary Wharf, London. Our Major Projects business delivers large-scale, innovative, and complex infrastructure projects which keep the UK moving and the economy thriving. We operate within three principal markets; Transportation; Energy and Power, and Major Infrastructure. We are looking for an individual with the passion and potential to support our transition to a data-driven business. As a Benchmarking Engineer/Estimator/Quantity Surveyor you will provide benchmarking and analysis services on major complex infrastructure projects across the transportation and energy sectors. Ensuring cost, time and carbon data is structured in preconstruction and delivery in a way that facilitates collection and aggregation of consistent, comparable, and meaningful data for benchmarking and supporting the preconstruction and delivery teams in
periodically collating benchmarking data for input to the system. What you'll be doing Other key responsibilities will be: Support preconstruction and delivery teams to incorporate benchmark coding in estimates, forecasts, finance, and planning systems to enable systematic and periodic harvesting of benchmarking data. Embedding benchmarking into Business As Usual processes, through the BMS and by providing training and guidance Support the development of time and production benchmarking by working through necessary steps with the planning community coded P6 and AIMS data, data processing and structuring for ingestion into PowerBI, continued data gathering through project lifecycle.

Relevant industry experience in a technical role (engineering / planning / commercial) on a range of major infrastructure / civil engineering projects A good understanding of construction methods, processes, and temporary works Experience of bid, preconstruction or construction delivery phases of projects incorporating major, complex civil engineering Good planning, management, and organisation skills Able to demonstrate good analytical and problem-solving skills.
