Full Job Description

Your responsibilities and tasks would include the preparation of the regular compliance tasks and other team integration such as:

- Company Financial Statements and Corporation Tax Returns (CT600)
- Unincorporated business accounts and tax returns
- Payroll and PAYE work
- CIS returns
- VAT returns
- Regular aspects of bookkeeping
- Client communications such as calls, emails, zoom and meetings in person
- Answering client queries where possible and referring to other team members where necessary
- Providing guidance to junior members of the team
- Assisting with further accounting topics such as budgeting and forecasting activities
- Communicating with other team members in any way to ensure a well guided and bonded team
- Participation in some informal networking events in and around the Witney area

to be at least AAT Qualified, and above
- experience in accounting compliance and completing many of the essential and regular accounting tasks such as payroll, VAT returns, CIS returns and the preparation of year end accounts
- expert experience with various accounting software programs such as Xero and Quickbooks
- experience with Office 365, Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
- an openness to learn how to use the apps and platforms that we use during our work, such as HMRC platforms and other work management schedules
- great customer relationship skills, as all members of the team communicate with our clients regularly
- to be adaptable to many different jobs and tasks throughout the month, depending on client demands and reporting deadlines, Proficiency in Xero, QuickBooks, and similar accounting software
- Firm understanding of financial accounting principles
- Knowledge of financial analysis techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - for establishing great client and team relationships
- Excellent Microsoft Excel and Word and good IT skills,

  • GCSE or equivalent (preferred)

    We are a small and close-knit team of 7 and the objective of our firm is to provide all of the usual accounting and taxation services to our clients but in a very bespoke and relevant way for them.


  • We are looking for an additional member to our team to help with the accounting and compliance aspects as we are growing.
