Apprentice Orthotic Technicians

We are currently recruiting for Apprentice Orthotic Technicians to join our Newcastle Manufacturing team. In this role you will be trained in the manufacture of hand - made medical devices, such as insoles, shoes, braces and adoptions for wheelchairs. This is not a 'typical' manufacturing environment and you will be expected to learn several traditional craft-based techniques using hand tools, so manual dexterity is preferable. You will be enrolled onto the prosthetic and orthotic technician apprenticeship level 3 at the university of Derby. You will complete one day a week of studies there.

Duties

• Manufacture of Insoles/Orthotics


• Administration of Insoles/Orthotics


• Potential 3D Designing on CADCAM


• Stock Control

Required knowledge, skills or experience


• Aged 18 plus

Desirable

• Have a keen interest in Design & Technology


• Good hand eye coordination and manual dexterity


• Have a can do attitude


• Be reliable and flexible


• Good interpersonal and communication skills
