Full Job Description

An excellent opportunity has come up at Grove Vale Primary School. The head teacher is looking to appoint a hardworking and enthusiastic After School Club Assistant.

You will be contracted to work 5 days per week 2 hours per day, 3:30pm - 5:30pm term time only.

The duties of an After School Club Assistant involve the safe supervision of pupils during the lunch period and include the following:

  • Assist with planning, preparing and delivering quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment.

  • Providing comprehensive care for the children including the safe delivery and collection to and from parents or carers.

  • Setting up the play space including moving furniture and play equipment.

  • Providing refreshments and ensuring that hygiene, health and safety standards are met.

  • Administering first aid when necessary.

  • Consulting with children and involving them in planning activities.

  • Helping with club administration, where necessary.

  • Encouraging parental involvement in the club.

  • Facilitating good communication with all members of the organisation, parents, and schools.

  • Undertaking appropriate and relevant training.

  • Keeping the work environment healthy, safe and secure.

  • Working within the framework of the club's policies and procedures.

    Band B SCP 3 - 4 (£22,737 - £23,114) pro rata (Actual salary £5,365 - £5,454) (£11.79 - £11.98 per hour) plus a living wage supplement to £12.00 per hour payable from 1st April 2024, Why work for us?
