Coventry is expanding with a growing population, a buoyant and increasing private rented sector. A key strategic priority for the Council is to therefore keep residents safe and tackle poor housing conditions.

Property Licensing and Housing Enforcement responds to complaints in the Private Rented Sector and implements the Mandatory and Additional HMO licensing schemes to deal with issues caused by the poor management of privately rented HMO properties. These services and schemes offer an opportunity to work in a busy high-profile environment dealing with improving standards of privately rented properties across the city.,

  • Dealing with enquiries, through varying mediums, ensuring that where possible they are resolved at first contact, or that messages are passed on to the relevant person for action.

  • Undertaking data input and document production using the range of systems in use within Regulatory Services.

  • Working with the Property Licensing Team Leaders to ensure publicly accessible data is displayed correctly in a timely manner.

  • Inputting data onto software and updating records.

  • Regularly communicating with members of the wider team and customers to deliver an excellent service.

  • Taking care of the admin side of our service, including maintaining IT systems, retrieving information as requested and ensuring that information is kept up to date.

  • Assisting with the development of IT systems and workflow processes within the regulatory service.

  • Can take responsibility for their workload and prioritise according to the service needs, making sure that performance targets are met.

  • Has the ability to record and provide information with accuracy.

  • Is computer literate and is confident using various IT systems.

  • Can support officers to ensure deadlines are met and delays in the system are minimised.

  • Has good literacy and numeracy skills to assist with the production of a variety of correspondence.

  • Can produce, analyse, and interpret reports using a variety of IT applications.
